RES Tech Team Meeting Minutes April 13, 2011 Present: Lane Richardson, Tim Moynahan, Judy Prince, Eric Ross (rep for Doris Gianforte), Liz Barrett, Maggie Hanna, Bonnie Vadala, Jacquie DeFreze, and Brandy Uhouse. Tim gave the background of why this committee is needed. He explained that each school has a school Tech Team that will make suggestions to the Rye Tech Committee who in turn makes the recommendations to the Rye Tech Advisory Council 1. What is working here at RES? · SchoolDude · Document Cameras · ixl Math · LCD Projectors · COWs · Google Apps · Accessing free programs · Learn 360 · Programs that correlate and align to the NH standards · The old overhead projectors need to be kept in the classrooms (this should not be put on a disposal list unless they no longer work · · 2. What is not working or needs improvement here at RES? · Printers/Printing · COWs aren’t working??? · Help directions put into the RES Staff Share folder and in a binder to be kept in the mail room and the teachers’ lunch room List of subscription with user names and passwords How to delete cookies How to rotate the desktop Other tech tips as needed How to cancel a print job · Fourth grade needs to add their classroom printer for each student to print non color pages · Teacher’s should approve each student’s work before it is sent to any color printer · Lack of privileges on computers/for downloading/updating items as well as for network connectivity · Quick emergency help (turned desktop) · Ordering and maintaining software licenses 3. Where do we want to go with technology in the future? · This team will make the vision for where we want to go in the future · Desktop size Smartboards · Access to a MAC for movie maker · iPads · closed circuit TV · Bring your own device in (rather than use school purchased hardware) Lane, Tim and Judy will create a meeting agenda from this list and set date and morning time for the next meeting.
